Yup, it's that time again....nasty allergy season!! I've been hearing and seeing, left and right, people complaining about their allergies. Raise your hand if you are one of these people.....okay, hands down. That is definitely too many!!!! Itchy, watery, puffy eyes, NONSTOP runny nose, congestion, sneezing, ect. Enough already! You want relief, right? Most of you probably reach for your Claritin, Benadryl, etc. BUT let me share with you what we do in OUR house!! :)
My oldest daughter recently had a battle with her allergy symptoms and she took out our weapons. I'm telling you, allergies DO NOT have a fighting chance up against this trio....Lemon, Peppermint and Lavender Essential oils!!! Before I started using essential oils last year, I heard several people say that they altogether STOPPED using their allergy meds. Yeah, right! Curiosity got the best of me after I was introduced to Peppermint when I had a pounding headache. It wasn't soon after I started using essential oils that my allergies started acting up. It was the moment of truth....and guess what??? The trio didn't fail me!!! It was awesome!! READ HERE ABOUT HOW THESE OILS WORK.
I get asked all the time about how we use the trio, so here is a run down:
Topically - put a drop of each oil in the palm of your hands, rub together then rub on the back of your neck, across your forehead and on your temples.
Swipe a drop of lavender along the bridge of your nose and across your cheekbones
I also make a roller bottle with equal parts of each oil and top it off with a carrier oil...that way you can take it on the go and apply as needed. Make sure that you use a glass bottle with a metal roller ball.
Aromatically, put 3-4 drops of each in a diffuser and diffuse as needed.
Or you can inhale as follows. In this case, you would be putting a drop of each oil in the palm of you hands.
Last way to take this trio is internally....
Please note: I can only vouch for Young Living essential oils and their efficacy. I cannot recommend taking any other essential oils internally because I do not know if they own their own farms nor do I have knowledge of their distillation process. I strongly suggest that you do your own research.
You can use one method or a combination of the above methods. It's all up to you. :)
So there you have it!! This is how we battle allergy season! If you have any questions, leave me a comment or shoot me an email.
