Fall Aroma...

I love Fall!!  I love everything about it! The weather is starting to cool down.  In Southern California, it's PERFECT weather!!  Fall decorations are going up (even though they have Christmas decorations selling in stores right now)  I still like to take time to enjoy the Fall season!  I love the colors of fall and I especially love the scent of fall.  It's so comforting and makes you want to snuggle all. day. long!!  What are your favorite things about Fall?  In honor of Fall, I am diffusing THIEVES and ORANGE essential oils.  The aroma is heavenly!!

Also, in honor of Fall, I am sporting Pumpkin Spice and Maple Sugar Jamberry Nail Wraps.  Aren't they cute??

I honestly can not believe how fast this year has flown by.  It's crazy!!  I'm making it a point to enjoy life, even the teeniest, tiniest things in life.  Enjoy the Present because once it's gone, it will never return. Take care my friends!!!  :)

Fight Allergies!!!

Yup, it's that time again....nasty allergy season!!  I've been hearing and seeing, left and right, people complaining about their allergies.  Raise your hand if you are one of these people.....okay, hands down.  That is definitely too many!!!!  Itchy, watery, puffy eyes, NONSTOP runny nose, congestion, sneezing, ect.  Enough already!  You want relief, right?  Most of you probably reach for your Claritin, Benadryl, etc. BUT let me share with you what we do in OUR house!! :)
My oldest daughter recently had a battle with her allergy symptoms and she took out our weapons.  I'm telling you, allergies DO NOT have a fighting chance up against this trio....Lemon, Peppermint and Lavender Essential oils!!! Before I started using essential oils last year, I heard several people say that they altogether STOPPED using their allergy meds.  Yeah, right!  Curiosity got the best of me after I was introduced to Peppermint when I had a pounding headache.  It wasn't soon after I started using essential oils that my allergies started acting up.  It was the moment of truth....and guess what???  The trio didn't fail me!!!  It was awesome!! READ HERE ABOUT HOW THESE OILS WORK.

I get asked all the time about how we use the trio, so here is a run down:

Topically - put a drop of each oil in the palm of your hands, rub together then rub on the back of your neck, across your forehead and on your temples.
Swipe a drop of lavender along the bridge of your nose and across your cheekbones

I also make a roller bottle with equal parts of each oil and top it off with a carrier oil...that way you can take it on the go and apply as needed.  Make sure that you use a glass bottle with a metal roller ball.

Aromatically, put 3-4 drops of each in a diffuser and diffuse as needed.

Or you can inhale as follows.  In this case, you would be putting a drop of each oil in the palm of you hands.

Last way to take this trio is internally....

Please note:  I can only vouch for Young Living essential oils and their efficacy.  I cannot recommend taking any other essential oils internally because I do not know if they own their own farms nor do I have knowledge of their distillation process.  I strongly suggest that you do your own research.

You can use one method or a combination of the above methods.  It's all up to you. :)

So there you have it!! This is how we battle allergy season!  If you have any questions, leave me a comment or shoot me an email.

Together is Better!!!

These two....Thieves and Lemon are great when used individually, but together they are BETTER!!!

Last month a few people in the office were sick....coughing and coughing AND coughing.  It wasn't a pretty sight.  I felt like I was living in a germ bubble while I was at work.  It was the Wednesday before Valentine's Day, which fell on a Saturday this year and my mission was to get better before then.  While a couple people in the office had Robitussin at their desk, I had Thieves, Lemon, Purification and R.C.  But I used Thieves and Lemon the most.  The staff just chuckled as they saw me use my oils while they were chugging down their Robitussin.  I had a smile on my face too!  :)  And guess what?  I was better by Valentine's Day.  The other people in the office did get better the following week, but I felt the germs still lingering.  I continued with my Thieves daily as a preventative measure and I always, always put Lemon in my water.  The first week of March, one girl in the office relapsed! And it was bad enough where she had to take a day off of work.  She came to work the next day and asked me about my "snake oils" LOL.  I told her to bring in some honey to work.  So for two days I gave her a drop of Thieves and Lemon in a spoonful of honey three times a day for two days.  TWO DAYS and she was better!  So is she a believer?  You better believe it!!

People can laugh all they want, I'll continue to go about my business and use my oils!  What are your favorite combinations?  I'd love to hear your stories.

Lavender Orange Sugar Scrub!!!

You all have been to the bath and body stores and have seen all the deliciousness they have to offer, right?  Well, I LOVE scrubs, any kind of scrub....sugar or salt.  The last time I was in one of those stores, I picked up a scrub and looked at the ingredients.  WHAT??  I couldn't even pronounce some of the stuff they put in there.  And I couldn't  convince myself to spend $16 for a tub.  Sooooo, I decided to make my own scrub!  Yup, here it is...Lavender and Orange Sugar Scrub!!!

1 1/2 Cup Sugar (any kind you want)  I used white sugar because that's what I had on hand
1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
25 drops of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
25 drops of Young Living Orange Essential Oil

Combine and mix the Sugar and Coconut Oil well
Add the essential oils and blend well

At this point, my body was yearning for this loveliness.  Scoop in glass container and you're done!! :)

Now, if I was going to give this to someone, I would have dolled up the jar a bit.  But it's just for me, myself and I and I'm that no frills type of gal.

So, I have to tell you, this stuff is amazing.  I used it in the shower the night I made it and it made my skin feel soooo good.  No lotion needed afterwards.  It is THAT good!!!

**ORANGE - antitumoral, relaxant, anticoagulant and circulatory stimulant.  Used for insomnia, complexion, fluid retention and wrinkles.

**LAVENDER - antiseptic, antifungal, analgesic, antitumoral, anticonvulsant, vasodilating,  relaxant, anti inflammatory, reduces, blood fat/cholesterol, combats excess sebum on skin.  Used for respiratory infections, high blood pressure, PMS, skin conditions, burns, hair loss insomnia and nervous tension.

DEEP RELIEF....don't leave home without it!

Yup, the title says it all.  Get it while it's in stock.  Don't know how long this will last.  This blend is definitely hoard worthy.  Unfortunately, in my region, I'm limited to one a month.  But hey, one is better than none, right?  The fabulous roll on is my go to for headaches and works like a charm.  When I'm out of it, I use Aroma Seiz and drive it in with Peppermint.  But Deep Relief is sooooo convenient.  You can also use it for any other kind of ache, except for a toothache....lol.  I've used it for sore muscles and backaches, too.  Just love this stuff.  If you want more info on Young Living essential oils, you can leave a comment here, email me or message me on my Facebook Page.

DEEP RELIEF is a perfect blend of the following oils:

Peppermint - releases tension

Lemon – improves blood circulation

Balsam Fir –  anticoagulant and it helps to relieve tired muscles and overworked joints.

Clove – numbs pain

Wintergreen – relieves muscle soreness and nerve tension

Helichrysum - anticoagulant and promotes blood circulation

Vetiver - deep relaxant

Palo Santo - anti inflammatory properties

Copaiba – intensifies the above oils

R.C......this stuff is magic!!!

Okay, so I'm always bragging about how great essential oils are, but this one here is like magic!!  Seriously!! It's really a must have during this cold and flu season!  I woke up this morning with a tinge of a sore throat and I said to myself, 'oh, no, this can't happen!'  We are in unannounced survey mode at work and I cannot afford to get sick.  I get my diffuser out and put seven drops of R.C., place it on the floor outside of the shower and run it while I'm in the shower.  I don't want to say immediate, but yes, I feel immediate relief as shortly after I start inhaling this magic.  I place it on my bathroom counter as I proceed to get ready for work.  I just love the aroma!  As soon as I'm ready for work, I rub a little Thieves on my feet and head on off to work.  But it doesn't stop there, I'll be diffusing R.C. in my office in my Orb diffuser.  While my other coworkers are hacking and downing Robitussin- YUCK!  I'll be inhaling the aroma of R.C.  And I bet you a million bucks, as they continue to get worse, I'll be better.  Yes, that's how much I believe in this stuff!!!

R.C. stands for Respiratory Care.  It a perfect blend of essentials oils that supports the respiratory system.  It contains:
  • Eucalyptus Globulus leaf oil

  • Myrtle (myrtus communis oil)

  • Pine leaf oil (pinus sylvestris)

  • Marjoram leaf oil (origanum majorana)

  • Eucalyptus Radiata leaf oil

  • Eucalyptus Citriodora leaf oil

  • Lavender oil (lavandula angustifolia)

  • Cypress (cupressus sempervirens)

  • Tsuga (canadensis leaf)

  • Peppermint oil (mentha piperita)

  • Spruce oil (pinus sylvestris)
The aroma of this blend is uplifting and energizing!  We always have a back up bottle, because this is one blend that you don't want to be without when you need it!!  If you want more information on essential oils, please contact me!

Allergy Trio....how do these little drops work??

Went into work this morning and my nose would not stop running!!  I can not function this way.!!  I quickly got my allergy trio together and put a few drops of each into my Orb diffuser.  Within minutes, my nose stopped running! All I can say is AMAZING!!  Oh, and I also put a drop of Peppermint into my morning coffee to give it a kick.  :)  Now you may want to know how these little drops of oil actually work.  Let me break it down for you...

PEPPERMINT essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties as well as cooling, soothing and pain relieving properties.  It improves breathing and eases congestion by opening airwaysThe aroma of Peppermint is fresh and strong and helps calm allergic reactions causing respiratory or digestive issues.

LAVENDER essential oil is a natural antihistamine and possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in relieving most allergic reactions.  It also has a calming effect on you body, mind and soul.  The aroma is heavenly.

LEMON essential oil is also an natural antihistamine.  It helps to decrease excessive mucous and inflammation that is caused by allergic reactions.

These three essential oils together are POWERFUL!!  The can be used topically, by inhalation/diffuser or by ingesting.  Your preference, take your pick.  :)  For more detailed information on how this trio can help you or ways to use, send me an email.

Make sure you know your source and are using quality essential oils.  Using sub par essential oils can do more harm than good.  Ask if they own their own farms and ask about their distilling process. Believe me, it makes a world of difference!

Let's get this New Year started!

I know, I know, it's been a while.  2014 was a year of change.  Lots of changes with family, health, finances and jobs.  But change is good, right?  RIGHT!!!  Change puts us out of our comfort zones and helps us reach for things that we thought were unreachable and unattainable.  Change has made me fully put my trust in Jesus Christ.  Why put the world on my shoulders when Jesus can carry the weight?!?!?

In August, I decided that I wanted to venture out of direct patient care and obtain some type of management position.  I took classes to gear myself towards that desire and to beef up my resume.  I accepted a position as a Wellness Nurse Supervisor at an ALF.  Although I loved that position, it only lasted one month because I was offered a position at a Home Health agency as a Quality Assurance Nurse Manager.  I thought...what a great position and the offer was more than I expected.  Little did I know that agency was in turmoil, but I LOVE a challenge. The agency was deep in Medicare audits and was way behind in getting doctors orders back in a timely manner.  After working there for a month, I could finally see the light.  I got the medicals records manageable and built relationships with doctors so they would keep us in compliance.  And I FINALLY got the nurses to understand and document correctly so that our claims would not be denied.  Let me tell you, it was a process that I would not willingly want to repeat.  And finally after everything in my department was running smoothly, in the blink of an eye the company was sold and bought without any of us being notified.  It changed ownership within 5 minutes right before our eyes.  The owners of the old company came in and told us the company has been sold, handed us our final paychecks and introduced the new company.  The owners of the new company offered all existing employees their same position except for our Administrator.  That was the sad part.  A lot of employees decided not to accept the offer.  Only three people in the management team decided to stay, I being one of them.  I did research on the parent company and liked what I saw.  It is now two weeks since the takeover and I believe I made the right decision.  This company is moving FORWARD!!

Well, through all this,  Young Living essential oils has helped my anxiety and my stress.  In my office I always have something diffusing.  I love it when the office and field staff come in and sit for a few minutes just to inhale what I'm diffusing.  They say they love the feeling they get when they do.  :)  My favorite oils to diffuse in my office are Peace & Calming, Lavender, Valor and Stress Away.  For concentration and alertness, I like to diffuse Peppermint with Lemon or Clarity.

What are your goals for this year?  Whatever they are, remember they are all reachable and attainable!  I'm including Young Living Essential Oils in my life to reach my goals!!  HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!
